pure-systems at SPLC 2007

pure-systems, the developers of the pure::variants software product line toolset we distribute, are taking part in next month’s 11th Software Product Line Conference.

Danilo Beuche is involved in two sessions in the main program.  “Minimally Invasive Migration to Software Product Lines” and “Using Requirements Management Tools in Software Product Line Engineering: The State of the Practice“.

The first paper is an experience report of a successful adoption of software product line engineering by Danfoss Drives. I’ve read this paper and it tells a really nice story about how the organisation has adopted the software product line way of working. It should be available for download after the conference but if you’d like a copy now let me know and I will arrange it.

Danilo will also give a tutorial - “Transforming Legacy Systems into Software Product Lines”. I’ve seen the slides for this and Danilo gives a great introduction to the topic. He  gave an earlier version of the tutorial last year and it was packed out, so make sure you book early if you’re going to SPLC this year.

Holger Papajewski will co-present a tutorial on “Using Feature Models for Product Derivation” with Olaf Spinczyk of Friedrich-Alexander University. This double-act have been working together for a number of years now so it should be a smooth performance.

pure::variants demonstration will also be held during the conference, time and date tbc. (But why wait, contact us and have your own personal demo :-))

The conference will be held from September 10 - 14, 2007, in Kyoto, Japan and at the time of writing places were still available…
