Code Generation 2007 planning update

Preparation for Code Generation 2007 is continuing apace.

We issued a call for session proposals on 4th November when the website went live and the first proposals have started arriving. We’ve now also listed ideas for sessions where the proposer is unwilling or unable to run the session themselves. Please keep the session proposals and ideas coming though - we want to make this as full and interesting an event as possible. Note that the deadline for proposing a session is Friday January 12th.

We’ve also been experimenting with using online advertising to promote the event. This has had some success but our campaigns need fine-tuning to reach the right people. In particular we need to get some idea of where people will be coming from in order to target our ads geographically. Drop us a line if you’re interested in coming to the event and live outside the UK.

In terms of invited sessions, Axel Uhl of SAP AG, co-author of the book “MDA Distilled” has agreed to give a keynote address on Friday 18th May. I’m also pleased to note that Andrew Watson of OMG and Markus Voelter, author of “Model-Driven Software Development” will chair panel sessions on “UML and Domain-Specific Languages - mutually exclusive?” and Code Generation “The next few years” respectively.

In terms of support for the event I’m pleased to say that Methods and Tools Software Development newsletter has now signed up as a media partner. The newsletter has a subscriber base of over 40.000 so this partnership should create more interest in CG2007.

We’ve also started the process of signing-up corporate sponsors for the event. So far three companies have confirmed an interest and ideally we would have more. The event wouldn’t be possible without some form of corporate support.
